Exclamation Strange Piggy

I swear I think Cookie is a moody teenager.

She HATES to have her cage cleaned. If I use the mini dustpan and brush she runs at it and bites it. If my hand is in there cleaning something, she nips at my hand. So the other day, tired of being nipped at, I used the dustbuster. She didn't even pay attention! No nipping, no chattering, nothing. She just stayed in her house and watched me. When I was done, she came out, looked at me and then climbed on her chair cozy and took a nap.

I just can't figure her out. I guess this is training for when my human kids reach their teens.

Re: Strange Piggy

It sounds like you have an alpha-sow and she's doing the dominance thing with you!

Ha, my alpha wench runs up to check me out then realizes I'm not another pig and backs off. So much cuteness.

Re: Strange Piggy

Yeah...it must be a teenage-thing!

Our Otus is similar. When I'm cleaning the cage, he marks me as his territory, and he'll nibble on my hands and arms when I'm petting him (which he demands constantly).

We keep waiting for him to grow out of his "weirdness" but, he just keeps keeps getting kookier!!

I would think that you WOULD clean the litter boxes often. Who wants to go to the bathroom in a dirty place?

I don't have a dedicated bathroom place, but I have a litter pan with CareFresh and that's where I feed her. The water bottles, hay and food dish are in there. It helps catch a lot of the poops that way.
