Is it safe to use baby shampoo when bathing a guinea pig?

If baby shampoo is all I have for now, is it safe to use it to bathe my guinea pig?

Re: Is it safe to use baby shampoo when bathing a guinea pig?

No. No human shampoos should ever be used on piggies, including baby shampoo. It's not formulated for their pH balance. Get a small animal shampoo such as Four Paws Bunny Bath or another rabbit or ferret shampoo. Just make sure there are no added medications or insectisides in it.

Re: Is it safe to use baby shampoo when bathing a guinea pig?

Should someone write the lady and tell her not to use baby shampoo? :/ What would it do to the piggies?

Baby shampoo, and other animal shampoos (including normal human shampoos) are to harsh for their delicate skin. It dries their skin out amongst other things.
