New Guinea Pig won't use waterbottle

Hi,

I just got a new guinea pig from a pet store (I know I know don't raz me on it) and she doesn't seem to know how to use a water bottle, even though there was one in her cage at the pet store.

We put a bowl of water in her cage, and she seemed to drink it or it evaporated. But, this is supposed to be unsanitary, and she could have just knocked it over.

We gave her carrots, and hand fed her with a syringe, but I really would like her to start using the waterbottle. She was so thirsty she chewed the end off the syringe today.

So does anyone know how to teach a piggy to use a water bottle? Let me know.

my guinea pig was like that to when i first got her. try putting water in a small bowl that she can reach in her cage but also offer the water bottle. dont worry, its normal. After a while she will drink from the bottle.
