Peruvian Vs. Coronet?

Hi. I was just wondering what the difference between a Peruvian and a Coronet guinea pig is. I've seen pictures of both kinds and the pictures that I saw looked the same to me. I ask this because I believe I have a Peruvian, the hair is long but not too long and she was sold to me as a Coronet.

Re: Peruvian Vs. Coronet?

Can you post a photo?

A coronet is a long hair crested pig but their hair goes straight back like a Silkie. A peruvian doesn't have the crest and they have a swirl that goes forward on their head.

Re: Peruvian Vs. Coronet?

Coronets have a crest on their heads, Peruvians don't. Peruvians also have two rosettes on their bottoms which means the hair doesnt always go straight down like a Coronet.

Peruvians have frindges, whereas Coronets don't and usualllly Peruvians hair grows quicker and longer than a coronets.

Posting a piccy might help, could be a cross breed? Where did you give him/her from?

I will try posting helpful pictures later, like of specfic areas of mine. Off out now though.

I don't have a camera right now but I do have a webcam I can try taking pictures from. I will post a picture later when I get the chance. I think that he is a Peruvian based on what I saw on pictures.
