Question I have a question...

Hi! I was wondering...I have had my guinea pig Honey for 5 years and i love to take her outside when it is nice. I always wondered what the minimum temperature needs to be. I took her outside today and it was like 70 degrees out. Thanks!

Re: I have a question...

Cavies need to be kept in a temperature range from 65F to 75F. 70F is within these limits.

How did she like being outside?

Exclamation Re: I have a question...

I have my pig outside unattended. But, he has his cage top over him and I check on him. Is this okay?

And to answerthe question, yes that is fine.

Oh, I also have another question, when it is really, hot out, and it is warmer inside than out, (I am talking 80 degrees. Sometimes more), can he be out side if he has a tile, water and is in shade? I am just curious because it can be fairly hot here in the North East.

Re: I have a question...

Hey, sam...um, it wasn't 70 degrees out you silly! More like 60, but anyways it doesn't really matter.
Oh, just to anwser everyones questions about the grass, yeah, it's untreated. I'm her neighbor and friend, so I know it's untreated (she would never put Honey on grass if she wasn't 100 percent positive it wasn't treated) anyways, just thought I would help clear that up. Bye Sam.

Re: I have a question...

65F-75F? That is 18C-23C. I read somewhere that the range is 15C/60F to 30C/86F. Which is right?

When I go out I turn the air-conditioner off and often when it is a hot day (say 35C/95F outside) it gets up to 28C/82F inside. Does this then mean that I need to put cold water bottles in their cage when it gets over 23C/75F?
