Blue Eyes

Hello I would like to find out if there is really such thing as blue eyes in piggies? Will it be pure breed? Or due to some genetic issues?

Mine has one kinda cloudy bluish eye and a brown one. I think he's blind in that eye though.

Blue means defective?? Oh no! Blind maybe?

Actually, cloudy would be more likely to indicate blindness. Blue would more than likely indicate that the pig's eyes are blue.

I believe so. I know all of my pigs have dark eyes. Red or "pink" eyes is also fairly common.

My rescue Sukki (almost all white, an abyruvian mix, with a tad of brown around the eye and bum) has both blue eyes, they are a deep blue but you can definitely tell they are blue.

I think she is just special :-) She has special needs (sister was a lethal, and she shows light "lethal tendencies" if you will, but not the malformities).

That is really wierd how it is rare. Both of mine had blue eyes and I thought this was perfectly normal. I guess blue eyed piggies have a way of finding me!

They are not that common it seems but I have seen several. One of my current fosters has blue eyes.

Is the blue in their eyes very obvious? As in, is it deep blue or "shiny" blue? Thanks.

I've got 2 baby fosters, and one older male foster with blue eyes. The babies have a pretty darkish blue, and the older guy's eyes are blue grey and very pretty.
