| Urine spraying piggy I put Bonsai and Tsunami on the kitchen floor for their first official floor time and Bonsai kept spraying urine on the other. When I first got them, I had them temporarily in a small pet store cage. When I got home from work, there was urine sprinkled on everything. So, I put them each in their own cage. This resulted in no more urine sprinkles. They are only going to stay in the cages during the quarantine time. I have a 2x6 (and soon to be bigger) c&c cage waiting for them when this is over. But I can't put them in there now because my old piggy is in there. Anyway. I'm afraid that Bonsai will keep spraying urine on anything that passes behind her. I don't want urine all over my bedroom walls and carpet. Nor do I want everyone to smell like urine. Is there any way to stop this? I thought about separating the cage with a grid. But she's still gonna be able to back her behind up to it and give the others a shower. This is really freaking me out. Help! |

| Re: Urine spraying piggy Some pigs are just very enamored with their own ability to squirt others. Does she squirt when Tsunami is not with her? She may just be angry because Tsunami is getting up her butt. More space and hidey houses (i.e. the 2x6 cage) may help Bonsai not be so crabby. |

I think you're right about the space thing. I so badly want them all to get along and live and play together. But, I just can't have her squirting on my walls and carpet. Nor do I want her soaking the other pigs....then I won't be able to cuddle with them. I think I will try to line the back and sides of my cage with coroplast from top to bottom. And I will put a 6-8 inch wall of coroplast in the front just to start. Hopefully I'll be able to shorten it though. The only thing I can do is try. And I found out that I can expand my cage to an L-shape with a 2x6 (maybe a 2x7) on one leg and a 2x2 on the other leg. Then they would really have a lot of room. Plus if it doesn't work out, I could easily give Bonsai a 2x4 area and the other two a 2x4 or 2x5 area. We'll just have to see. |
