I need help!

I am looking at guinea pigs trying to decide which pair I want to adopt, I have about two months until I can get them, and I can't decide which ones I want to get, I know that they could possibly be gone by then, but still. I have read their descriptions over, and over, and over again. These are the ones that I am looking at:

These guys turning one in March
Adopt Speedy and Dale - Guinea Pig Small&Furry

This pair I really like, and was going to adopt before I found the others.
Adopt Fozzie and Kismet - Guinea Pig Small&Furry

These next two I would want to adopt together
Adopt Percy - Guinea Pig Small&Furry
Adopt Remus - Guinea Pig Small&Furry

Same with these next two
Adopt Riley - Guinea Pig Small&Furry
Adopt Toby - Guinea Pig Small&Furry [Mix]

My first choice would be Fozzie and Kismet....my second choice would be Percy and Remus.

I would ask the rescue if you could adopt them but not get them right away. I saw 3 wonderful girls right before I went on vacation last August...I knew I needed to expand my cage in order to take them. I asked if I could have a little time. The Rescue basically gave me a month to get everything set up. If you are set on a specific pair of piggies, I would ask....they might say yes!!

(I also made a donation to the rescue at that time. I'm not sure if that helped them give me more time or not. But, it didn't hurt...and I helped the rescue out, and they help my girls for me....it was a win-win situation)

I already asked that, and they said it would be okay, but my parents won't do it.

I would base your choice on your personal situation as to what piggies suit you best (and vice-versa!).

If you don't have the time to tame baby pigs, then go for older already tamed pigs, and so on...

Your parents won't what? Sorry, don't understand that bit.

I like Percy and Remus! Remus is a doll!

You really need to go see them in person and see which ones seem managable for you! Each one will have its own personality that will shine when you meet them, so go check them out and see if any of their personalities match yours!

Just based on what they look like I would personally pick Riley and Toby. One of my boys looks just like Riley. If I was going by which ones I thought someone else may not pick, I worry about the animals that don't get adopted, I would pick Speedy and Dale because both are going to be 1 and a lot of people want little piggies. Good luck with finding piggies to adopt!

Yeah, that's sort of what I was thinking about, getting Speedy and Dale, based on their age, because you are right, a ton of people want little cute baby animals and they even don't think about the older ones who need homes just as much. Astrantia, I meant my parents won't adopt them now, and let the rescue keep them until I can get them, I had asked the rescue if I could adopt them, and we pay for pellets, hay, and veggies, and they keep them for me until we could get them, which would be about 2 months, and they said yes, but my dad said no to it. And also, I would have plenty of time to tame them, because I am homeschooled, and it takes me half the time to get my school work done, as it does a kid who goes to school. newpiggymommy, I wouldn't be able to actually go see most of them in person because they are to far away, but I would be able to adopt them because the rescues do transportation, by driving them up to you, but that is a good idea.

I agree about the older ones needing homes, but I love Speedy and Dale! I would go see them all in person though before making a decision.

That's exactly the problem, all of them, except for Fozzie and Kismet, are in South Carolina, and I am in North Carolina, and my mom won't drive that far, just to look at them. So far I'm leaning towards Speedy and Dale, but also pay attention that Toby is two years old, older than both Speedy and Dale, so....So far it seems to be more between Speedy and Dale, and Riley and Toby. More Speedy and Dale than the others. What the hay, why don't I just get them all!

Do you guys think that maybe I shouldn't get Percy and Remus since it says: Both boys are very shy and somewhat wild. They need an owner that will work with them and help them overcome their fears. And I will be a first time owner, so would it be okay to get them?? I mean I will have plenty of time to work with them, and I am very patient when it comes to animals, I waited for three hours for Penny to come out from under my bed , and come up to me to just sniff me and check me out, when we first got the kittens, and it took over a week for them to let us pick them up. *sighs* This is so hard! I wish I could get all of them, but my parents wouldn't let me, and I have to be realistic. I am going to have to share my room with my little sister, and somehow I have a feeling if I got Percy and Remus, that she would terrify them with how loud she is. I'm just praying that we get a 6 bedroom house, so I can have my own room, and I wouldn't have to worry about that!

I think I have made my descision. I looked at all of them carefully, read the descritpions over carefully, and looked into their eyes, I really like Speedy and Dale, I really do, but when I look into Toby's eyes, my heart melts. I really like Toby's coloring, and everything, and I like Riley to. If I can't get them, my second choice will be Speedy and Dale, and if not them, Percy and Remus, and if not them, Fozzie and Kismet. Sorry for the triple post.

All the piggies you listed are really cute, but Toby is definitely a little sweetheart. His little face just looks so sad and like he's longing for attention so badly. Let us know what happens and whether you are able to adopt Toby or any of the others. Good luck!!

I will! I am going to send in an application for both Riley, and Toby, about two weeks before we move, so that we could possibly pick them up on the way there, but I think Iwill have to wait until after we move in, and I have the cage set up.

Good choice when I saw Tobey my heart melted he is just completely adorable!!! Can't wait for more pictures when you bring them home!

Now I just have to get the stuff for the cage, I already have plenty of grids for a big cage (at least a 4x6 with a 2x6 upper deck, and a 4x2 hay room), and I have to wait about 2 months...that's always the hard part! I orginally was getting one guiena pig from PetStupid for Christmas, my mom and dad had got me a teeny tiny petstore cage, one pigloo, one water bottle, a bag of Kaytee Fiesta, and CareFresh bedding, I kind of realized that the cage was too small when I put the pigloo in, and it took up half the cage! I started researching about guinea pigs, and found this website, and now I will be adopting two guinea pigs, they will have a large C&C cage, KM's hay and pellets, plenty of hideys, cozies, and tunnels, and I know how to PROPERLY take care of them. Don't worry, I will be posting tons of pigtures when I get them
