| Its almost time! As some of you know, my baby is pregnant. After keeping an eye on her for over a month its almost time for the piggies to arrive! I've read through the pages on Guinea Lynx (Thanks to those who suggested it!). My mom also did some research. I believe the babies could come at any moment. The last couple of days have been long days. She's mostly layed around while eating/drinking and playing with mommy and just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I can see and feel the babies moving..which is totally awesome! I read that when it looks like a piggie is hiccupping that means that she's going to have the babies really soon. I dont know if that is true or not (maybe you guys could chime in on it?) but she looked to be hiccuping earlier. I put her blanket over her cage and have left her alone for the past hour or so. I dont want to disturb her. This is just really exciting for me! As soon as they arrive I'll post pictures and let you know how everyone is doing! |

| Re: Its almost time! When our foster piggie was pregnant, and I thought she was going to have the babies any day, I noticed what looked like hiccuping. I was so certain she was going into labour that I sat up all night with her. She didn't have the babies for a week after that LOL!!! |

LOL Hopefully its not that long until Talla has her's! Almost 3 hours later and not piggies. I've been checking her about ever half hour or so. I have a feeling I wont be getting much sleep tonight. ![]() |

| Re: Its almost time! Honestly, they seem to wait until they are alone to have them. I swear it's a conspiracy and they can hold them in LOL!!! I know exactly how you feel - it's torture waiting!!!! |

Our Frisky was born to a pregnant rescue piggy that was at an animal camp my sons were attending, that was run by the local animal shelter. She had her babies overnight while no one was there. That seems to be a common theme. |

| Re: Its almost time! Is there any news on babies yet? I know it can take up to a week after hiccupping starts, but TeeJay was born about 15 minutes from the time Ruby started hiccupping. I was right there by her side when it started, and boy am I glad that I was. Ruby had trouble giving birth, and I had to clean the sac off the baby to get her breathing. If it had happened when I wasn't home...the baby wouldn't have survived. Keep us updated on the condition of the mother and babies. |

| Re: Its almost time! I tried to edit my last post, but my stupid computer acted up. I didn't mean to scare you, or make you even more nervous than you already are. I know how nerve-wracking it is to be waiting on Momma to give birth. It was a good idea to put a blanket over her cage to make her feel more secure. That will probably help her a lot. I think Talla will do just fine. Keep us updated on how she's doing. The little stinkers like to surprise us, that's for sure! |

| Re: Its almost time! Oh, you didnt scare me. I've had her cage coverd for the past week. I've uncovered it a little but during the day to give her some fresh air. Yesterday was cage cleaning day so that was fun. I cleaned while mom fed Talla some veggies. She hasnt been letting me get her out (and I cant blame her) but she let me yesterday. She seemed to really enjoy the floor playtime and giving her mommy a hug. |

| Re: Its almost time! We drape our cages too (because we live in a cold, drafty old home). You don't want to cover the cage completely. Just drape about 1/2 to 3/4 of it. She needs to have fresh air circulating 24/7. |

Thats exactly what I do. Still no piggies. I'm getting a bit anxious. Poor thing is way past waddle mode. Its so cute when she walks around. |

| Re: Its almost time! If you haven't already, take some pictures of your pregnant girl. Make sure you take some from above to show off how big she is. You will be glad you have them later. I am thinking of you and hoping for a safe delivery for Talla!!! By the way, I'm sorry I was right about it being a week after the hiccups *grin* |
