Guinea Pig Problems!!!!!

Oh no! I am looking to adopt another guinea pig, and there are no shelters around me that have guinea pigs from what I know. The only other places that have them are Petstupid, New World Pet Shop(It smells), and this place in the mall which is crappy! I don't think my mom wants to go for the internet option. What should I do??

Re: Guinea Pig Problems!!!!!

Look on petfinder, and craigslist, if you can't find any, wait until they have some.

Re: Guinea Pig Problems!!!!!

Did you check:

petfinder.com
petharbor.com
guineapighome.com
craigslist.org.
Guinea Pig Adoption Network

Use the Internet to search for adoptables using your zip code. Get parental permission before contacting any private parties. You can also post a "wanted" ad if there is a craigslist forum in your area.

If you are a minor, it is against forum rules to post your location here. Posting your zip code may be ok, but check with a moderator.

Re: Guinea Pig Problems!!!!!

S+P, What state are you from? I will help you look for piggies in your state!

I made the mistake of supporting a petstore (buying my pigs), and I am so regretting it!

Please be patient and wait for the right one to come along to be rescued!

In my opinion, the best policy is---if your only option is a pet store, then don't get a pig at all.

Zip codes can be looked up which would give away location.

It would be best if you just gave what state and what area of the state you are in such as north, south, east, west, northeast, central, etc.

Re: Guinea Pig Problems!!!!!

I had to wait a few weeks to find a piggy close enough for me to adopt. It was well worth the wait because I got to get a pair that already lived together. I would highly recommend waiting to adopt. If you have not read some of the links on this site about what piggies go thru when raised by piggy mills and pet store horror stories, please look them up before buying from pet store. I think the stories will change your mind.

Plus, even if you have to wait a little longer to adopt, they are well worth the wait! Rescued piggies are awesome!
