| Is it o.k. to give guinea pigs a bath? If so, how often and what should I use? And, I've heard of people using a blow dryer on their piggies. Is this alright? Also, I just wanted to say how thankful I am to have found this forum. Everyone seems to be so caring and knowledgeable. The advice given here sits well with me and makes a lot of sense. This stands in stark contrast to what I've learned at pet stores. Again, thank you all very much. |

| Re: Bathing Guinea Pigs Yes, you can bathe them but not very oftern. Only once or twice a year or so, so if its not urgent I don't suggest it. Many people never give their piggies baths. If you do you should, use a small animal shampoo, not baby shampoo, and not dog/cat shampoo. Blow dryers are okay. I use BunnyBath, you can get it at petstores (which I dont reccomend giving your money to) and I've seen it at a few feedstores too. I got mine at Orscheln Farm & Home, they are in the widwest but I'm not sure if there are any in Tennesse, I think there may be some though, it was under $5 from there. |
