We just rescued a guinea pig from the Humane Society and were told to wash him in sebbolux, because his hair is greasy. I have done a search on this forum, Guinealynx, and the internet and have found nothing. And, if someone knows what it is, is there an alternative. THanks!

Re: What is sebbolux? How about just posting on GL? I have no idea, and they know more about medical questions too.

Re: What is sebbolux? Hello. I don't know if you found an answer to your question about Sebolux yet, or not, but in case you haven't ... Sebolux is a theraputic shampoo for dogs and cats, designed to remove the scales and crusts associated with seborrhea. It is made up for solubilized sulfur and salicylic acid. Seborrhea is the same thing as cradle cap in human babies or seborrhic dermatitis in adults .... it's just basically a build up of sebum (a thick, sticky substance secreted by your sweat glands) - a lot like dandruff. Since it's designed for dogs and cats, I'd check with your vet before using it on your guinea pig. You might need to dilute it or something.

Re: What is sebbolux? That was very informative. How did you know what it was? And all the technical terms? Very impressed!!

Re: What is sebbolux? I looked up Sebolux on the internet. But the technical terms come from me being a nurse.

Re: What is sebbolux? Thanks for all the information. The vet has it for $15 for 6 ozs. The fact that I was told to only give him one more wash, is there anything else I can use? He doesn't seem to scratch a lot, and when we hold him and pet him, I don't notice any irritation. Thanks.
