For C&C cages, do zip ties work for connectors?

I tried to connect my grids with zip ties, but the grids swung back and forth and seemed very unstable. Do they stabilize when you complete the whole cage?

Re: For C&C cages, do zip ties work for connectors?

The ties work well for stabilizing the cage, but you should use the connectors that come with the grids to initially build it. Don't tie down the cable ties too much as there needs to be a bit of space between the grids.

How many levels are you building and are you placing it on the floor or a table? I have a two tier on a table and a one tier that is built on a stand made of grids. It's nice to be able to reconfigure it as you need. Hope this helps!

I don't have connectors, only cable/zip ties. If it seemed a bit wobbly, then I just tied it up in another spot. The final result is very stable.

I only use cable ties and they work perfectly (I have a second level as well!).Yes, the cubes will swing back and forth, but when you have everything finished it will be fine.

Mine has some connectors and zip ties. It is a bit wobbly when its not completed. Once you put coroplast down it will stay in place.

Alright, thanks much! I'm building a 7 x 1 3/4(I had to overlap the grids a bit to get them to fit) with two 1 3/4 x 1 second levels on a countertop.

Sounds like a cool cage. To fit on the table you mean?

No, in my basement I've got an exceptionally long counter against the wall that is about 8-9 feet long that his cage fits perfeclty on.
