Too Much food?

I've asked this question a couple times before but I'm still curious. My boys eat...ALOT! I don't know if it's just because I feed them too much or what!?! Could I post a picture of how much food they get? Will someone tell me if this is too much to feed them twice a day? I've seen other peoples' pics, and I feel like I give them more then EVERYONE! I don't want to make them obese?! Please help!

mine get unlimited pellets and hay also....i also give them fresh veggies twice a day (morning and night). I give them two baby carrotts, 2 big pieces of orange, 2 big pieces of tomatoe, sometimes apple or cucumber or whatever else I have around. I also give them about 3 LARGE handfuls of cilantro,parsley, or romaine...or sometimes a mix of the three. Am I over feeding? Or is this ok?

Try not to give too much fruit; the natural sugars will fatten them up. Also some veggies like cucumber and celery have a high water content and are not overly nutritous. I do the same thing with veggies, once in the morning and once at night. And boy do they know when it's veggie time!

I give my guinea pigs unlimited pellets and hay. I give them their carrots at noon and their greens at 8PM. My first piggy's favorite occupation is to eat. Thats all he does most of the time. I guess that is why he is such a fat cuttie! At the age of 8 months he weighs 2 1/2 pounds.

I give them as much pellets and water as they will eat and drink.

I give them hay and veggies as supplemental treats, because they will eat at once as much as they will get.

This makes sure they eat more of their staple diet, the pellets, and keeps the cages cleaner.

you only give them hay and veggies as treats? they should have hay 24/7! i know it gets messy, but hay should always be in their cage for when they want to eat. It's good for them and doesn't make them fat (timothy i hope). Give them more hay! and veggies at LEAST once a day!

Oh, they get plenty. They have us trained with the wheeky chorus.

Besides pellets, I bring home the non eaten mixed salad greens from the lunchroom at work, and they get whatever kitchen stuff there is, and whatever I can get when I'm shopping at the market. I give an equal amount of timothy hay as greens, to balance the liquids. And they get alfalpha pellets and fruit,too. But I try to keep their main diet as the guinea pig pellets, since the pellets are supposed to be formulated for them, with vitamin c and whatever else.

They get as much of the other stuff to where the cages get messy quickly and I wonder if they get enough of the regular stuff. It's way more than a treat, and way more than a supplement to their diet. They will litterally eat as much as you give them, when it comes to greens. I don't think that is necessary or good for them to eat so much. And a clean, dry cage is important, for their health, and as much as anything else. Particularly, in keeping them in the house.

Believe me, they are not underfed anything.

I give them (my cavies) two small little cups full of food a day. Because when I gave it to them unlimited they would only eat half of the pellets and throw the rest of them all over the floor. And they were wasting a lot of food.

Every day I change their water, give them plenty of fresh hay, and between them, I give them 50g of dry food and 120g of veg/fruit (fed as two 60g servings). They've steadily been putting weight on, and now weigh just over 900g after 6 months. They're very alert, bright eyed and lively - alot more than some other piggies that I've seen that appear to be comparitively sluggish.
