How to clip nails?

We clip our piggies nails during laptime. My wife does the clipping while I hold the piggy up. I kind of make them stand up, while supporting their front and back and bottom. This seems to work as they don't struggle much and tend to settle down and just let my wife get on with it. I suppose it's the opposite way round that you'd hold them to your chest.

Is this OK or is it a big no-no for some reason? They let me know if they're not happy and when cutting their nails the seem fine.
