I noticed that some egg cartons at the store are made out of recycled cardboard. It looks a lot like the carefresh a lot of people (including myself) use for their cages. My idea is: if you rip the carton up you could use it for bedding, which means you are recycling (which is always a good thing) and saving some money (It may not be a lot, but its better then nothing). one carton can give you about 1-2 handfulls of bedding. Im going to ask my family and friends to collect the cartons they use and give it to me. Note: The egg catons are not as obsorbant as the original carefresh, so you sould probably use a mix of both.

Re: Recycle and Save Money Hmmm... what about the fact that the eggs were inside? The inks?

Re: Recycle and Save Money It should be soy-based ink, which is what is used in the vast majority of black and white newspaper. That's why we don't use colored unless we know for sure. Just give the company a call and ask to be sure.
