Question whitish looking stuff

I noticed yesterday that Harry has some whitish looking fluid coming out of her butt, and i don't know what it is. There's not a lot of it, i'm just a little worried.

Re: whitish looking stuff

Wow. I have no idea. But if it was my pig I'd take her to the vet right away.

Re: whitish looking stuff

I have no idea. You could ask at the guinea lynx forum. They know more about health issues. http://www.guinealynx.info/forums/index.php

Re: whitish looking stuff

Sometimes when grooming the guinea pigs discharge fluid from their eyes and normally suck it right back in. I would wipe it off and see if it comes back, if it does, it could mean your pig is ill, if not, it's just the eye fluid. Find more info on the fluid here: http://www.treenspigs.com/care/careeyes.html

Re: whitish looking stuff

I think she said it was coming out of her butt, not eyes .

I really have no idea what it is. Hope you figure it out.

Re: whitish looking stuff

They sometimes have a discharge if they're in heat.

Re: whitish looking stuff

Was it coming out of her butt or that area in general? It could have been her estrus plug. First time I saw it, I thought my piggie's insides were coming out. My daughter pulled on it and it came out looking like a wad of snot. Very distressing until we figured out what it was!

Re: whitish looking stuff

It could have been because she was in heat. If it happens again, take her to a vet just to be sure. I really don't know what it is....

Re: whitish looking stuff

When it comes out of their eyes that's just something that helps them with grooming. When I saw that coming out of Grimace's eyes I freaked and then found out it's normal and healthy..but for the butt? That's odd.

Re: whitish looking stuff

Why are we digging up posts that are almost a year and a half old and responding to them? Please leave dead threads alone. If it's older than 2 months and you have nothing beneficial to add, then leave it alone!!!
Thank you Ly&Pigs for this useful post, says:
