| Strange behavior About 40 minutes ago, I was watching the boys eating hay in their cage, when I noticed Alfalfa exhibiting strange behavior. I don't know quite how to describe it. It was like he was choking or hyperventilating or flautulent or something. I don't know quite how to describe it. I immediately took him out to examine him. The fit lasted about five more seconds and it stopped. I left him out for about 30 minutes and observed him. Alfalfa showed no signs of being sick; he made curious chut-chut noises, lounged in his favorite chair, tried to eat newspaper, wandered around, etc. In short, he made no signs that anything was wrong. His nose, eyes, and ears are clean. I put Alfalfa back in the cage and he and Timothy started chasing each other around as they always do. Does anyone know what happened? Was it indigestion (or something like it) or something more serious? |
