Ticklish Pig?

You know when you scratch a dog, and you find that spot that makes his leg start going up and down, and they really seem to like it.

My female pig that I rescued does the exact same thing when you pet her, sometimes she almost lays on her side like she wants you to scratch her tummy or something, and the leg gets going just like a dogs. I think it's kind of cute, but I'm also wondering if maybe it could be a sign of illness or pain.

She has no other symptoms, she eats well, and is pooping and peeing, and is happy to run about when she comes out.

Could she just be a ticklish pig? Or just enjoy being scratched?

Re: Ticklish Pig?

One of my boys does that. Bo lays on his side when on my lap and near his tummy area he seems ticklish. He kicks his foot and coos. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. He's a mamma's boy.

You described it well, that is exactly what my little girl does. She coos as well.

Re: Ticklish Pig?

I used to rub my finger under my guinea pig's neck and she'd coo.

Hehe. My Elvis has a little spot like that on his tummy near his back leg. He will lay on his side and kinda kick his leg too. He makes the funniest sound, almost like a giggle.

Re: Ticklish Pig?

My pig arnie is very ticklish. He will do what you described, but also if you tickle him on the back near the rear, he will start biting the air or his pigloo etc

Re: Ticklish Pig?

If he's biting at the air, or at anything, that usually means they don't like what you are doing.

My Oreo does laugh, well sorta. My husband says you can see it and almost hear it. On Oreos right side just above his hip, he loves it and gets all goosy, then he`ll ran around and popcorn.

Re: Ticklish Pig?

My boys do that if you rub them in the right spot. Nismo just goes to his side and sticks one leg out, Momo just flattens himself to the ground and then jumps up and runs when he's done being petted, LOL, he'll let me know when he doesn't like it anymore.

Re: Ticklish Pig?

Ripley's back feet are ticklish -- If she has them visible and I tickle them she'll pull them under her really fast. And a few seconds later she'll put her feet back out there....
