Best place to put food

Hi everyone, I am just sitting here planning how to set up my piggie's new C&C cage. I want to put a litter pan in it to see if they will use it. Do piggies like to eat away from where they use the bathroom? Should I put the potty at one end and the kitchen at the other end of the cage?

I have a 2 story C&C cage. I reserve the upper level for food and drink. They are only served food up there. My guys don't seem to care where they poo. I do not have a litter pan I don't think mine would use it. However I do notice that they pee in the same corner most of the time. But the poo is everywhere.

RE: Best place to put food

I have three piggies and I have bought them a litter tray but they don't use it. It is a big corner one and they just push it around the cage or hide behind it. They tend to wee and poo in the two corners nearest the wall (one corner where I put the litter tray, but they just move it).

I put their dried food bowls and veggies in the middle of thier cage. They aren't at all fussy where they pee or poop so I quite frequently have to take out cabbage leaves that they've peed on or have bits of poo attached!

I suppose some piggies are more fussy than others, just avoid the corners and you should be okay(ish).
