    Just some updates.

Hurricane got her last Mites treatment this week and she has gained a significant amount of weight and almost all her hair has grown back. As for the other 3 the vet said since they aren't really showing major signs of mites that a bath with special shampoo should be enough to take care whatever dormant mites they possibly have. She just told us she has perscribed it a few times in the past on guinea pigs in similar situations and said it does work, just since it has an insecticide in it we are to make sure they are thoroughly rinsed before drying them off.

As for the cage, we had to recently get rid of an old chair in our living room, which has feed up a corner. With a little rearranging I should be able to get enough room to expand the cage to an L-Shape. My plan is to make a 2x2 to go in the corner, then branching off to the east and the south would e 2x3 sections. The 2x2 section in the middle would be a kitchen/hay area and the 2 adjoining areas would be normal cage space. I think this will be quite nice for all 4 because it will give them plenty of room so they shouldn't fight this time around, and if things still don't work out with Blizzard, I can easily divide the cage.

What is the name of the shampoo and what is the name of the insecticide? Even if she has prescribed it before, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is safe.

It's called Ecto-Soothe 3X : Emollient Oatmeal Pesticidal Shampoo. I am not sure what the pesticide in it is but these are what the active ingredients on the label are: Pyrethrins .15%, Piperonyl Butoxide 1.5%, and n-Octyl Bicycloheptene dicarboximide .5%.

Pyrethrins are dangerous for your piggie. Please do not use that shampoo!! Get yourself some ivermectin and use it to treat your piggies.
