Scab?
I just noticed this little scabby looking thing on his face. At first I thought of Cheilitis, but the image on Guinea Lynx and what's on his face look nothing alike.
If it was something like Cheilitis, then the other pigs would have it too, right? Well, I checked and they don't.
As you can see, it's not red or inflamed or anything. He doesn't sneeze and his nose isn't snotty. He's doing everything like he normally does, no change in behavior. Also, I think I remember seeing a little scratch on his nose a few days ago.
It honestly does look just like a scab. What does everyone else think?

Re: Scab?
It does look like some dried snotty stuff. Have you tried gently cleaning it? It is however unusual that its only on one side. There could have been a cyst there and its finally burst? Did you notice any lumps or bumps before you noticed this?

Re: Scab?
No, there was nothing there prior. His nose looked perfectly normal.

Re: Scab?
Is it gooey to the touch or has it dried? I would try and gently clean the area with a Q-tip and some slightly salty warm water.

Re: Scab?
It's dried and I just cleaned it. Now's he sitting on my shoulder looking out the window.

Re: Scab?
Aww! Hows it looking now? I would keep an eye on it and see if it comes back in the same area.

Re: Scab?
It's still there, I'm still leaning toward it being just a scab, but I did clean it. I'll be keeping an eye on him though.
Now we just invented a piggy windowsill for him to watch the cars drive by.

Re: Scab?
Yeah it is beginning to look that way. Hopefully it will clear up soon
We used to put my male Gizmo up on the windowsill, he liked watching the cars too hehe.

Re: Scab?
Do you have him in a cage with another boar?

Re: Scab?
I just checked in on him and it seems that there isn't as much there as when I took the picture. He probably got some of it off while playing. There's nothing underneath, no redness or inflammation, just normal piggy nose. He's happily throwing his toilet paper roll around.

Re: Scab?
It might have been boar glue. But, keep an eye on him in case it recurs (which would indicate fungal or bacterial infection rather than glue).

Re: Scab?
It's dried guinea pig semen. Sometimes when they hump each other, they make a mess, and it hardens into this hard plastic-like stuff that's firmly glued to whatever it's on.

Re: Scab?
Oh, ok! I had a feeling that that's what it was, but I wasn't sure. Thanks! It's all gone now, so his nose is nice and clean. Thanks for the help, everyone!
