I am so, so, so sorry to hear the sad news. One of my piggies had babies and two of them were stillborn, it was so heartbreaking. I felt like I had done everything right and took perfect care of my girl right to the end, and it still didn't seem to matter. Don't worry sweetie, it's not your fault, you are a wonderful piggy parent. You did everything you could.

I buried the stillborn babies and made a small grave marker for them in my garden, it was very hard to do but I think it helped me to mourn the loss and eventually move on. When you are ready, you can start looking at your local shelters to bring a piggy or two home. Try to think about the positives, like how this gives you a chance to bring home piggies that might otherwise have never gotten the chance.

We burried them in a grave off a dear path by my parents house. Annabella didnt know what was going on, just that Andrew was holdin a shovel and Mommy a box.

Soon Spider Pig will be neutered and everyone will be happy living together. I apologize for my bad language in the first post.

I'm so sorry for your loss Ortal. Your post brought tears to my eyes. I saw the pics of the divided cage you made for your pigs. You're a great piggy mommy. My boys and I send hugs your way.

I am sorry for your loss, but please don't torture yourself by worrying that if you'd been there, you could have somehow 'done something'. The babies were simply too premature to live, and nothing you might have done could have changed things at that point. Take good care of Puppy and give her lots of love!

I'm going to be really corny here.

I've never seen any pet die, nor had any family member that I have met die. These weren't even my pets yet, but it hit me so hard. When I got over the initial shock, I kept thinking of a quote from a Jonathan Larson Documentary (kudos to anyone who knows who that is). "It was such a feeling of absolute. He was absolutely dead" Something like that. I kept thinking about that when thinking about the babies. They were absolutley dead, and there was nothing I could do, ever, to fix that. That 'absolute' feeling is something I have never feeling before.

That's not corny, or at least I don't consider it corny. Sounds like you have been extremely fortunate in your life thus far, to have never seen anyone (animal or human) die, and to not even be close to anyone that's died. That's something you definately have to be thankful for. And I understand why this hit you so hard, having never had to deal with death before. It's very hard the first time and more of a shock, but I can't say that it gets any easier. I feel like I have experienced way too much death in my life, especially for being only 24. I hope that you and your husband are doing okay, and hopefully the healing process can begin soon.

I'm so sorry, I had a similar experience when I owned guinea pigs as a teenager. It was equally as traumatic. Nature has a way of dealing with things as it sees fit. I hope your piggie is ok, please give her lots of love and hugs, hang in there.
