They are neglectful and obviously buy from a byb or mill or get supplied by a distributor/buncher who gets them from (possibly) even worse places. Don't give them your business, any business, if you can possibly avoid it. |

I agree! Don't get her and don't shop there if you can help it! I know it's tempting, but it would just be contributing to the overpopulation problem. If you really want another piggie and have the time and resources for one, why not check online or shelters in your area and find a lovely piggie to rescue rather than buying? |

That is very sad ... And I totally understand about wanting to rescue her, take her in - I did that with both of my piggies AND my bunny. I felt that I could give them the kind of home that they were being deprived of. And I have done so, and more... What I didn't realize at that time was, that yes, I was doing a very good thing, but by doing that, in a way it was just making room for them to get more helpless animals. It is very tempting to want to take them in - I know if I could I would take in so many, but since coming to this site and gaining a bit more knowledge about the business of pet stores, I have to say I definatly hold them in a different light now. I would most definatly report them. I know here in the states we have the better business beureu (I am not sure if you have something similar where you are?) There are also plenty of animal advocate places you can contact as well. Hang in there ! |

Well I phoned the store and kinda screamed at the manager he said that he will put her in a bigger cage (as there was one empty anyway) I thanked him for that and asked if there was any chance there would be some more coming in soon he said there may be some coming today there will be around 3 others and he will mix them with her if posible then I calmly said "thanks then bye" so im going to go again and check she is being cared for. I got a call back saying that if I want her I can have her for half price because she wont mix but there is another empty cage she can go in instead of the hamster cage. I was temptied but then thought to myself "she's a preety girl so she has a good chance of a home soon and if I get her then if there is another piggy by itself she/he will deserve my pity as much so I thought nope! ill sheck on her when I can though" her eyes had sandy stuff in them and I wiped it away and her eyes were a little red but she would let me touch them so I thought "well they cant be that sore if I can touch them huh?" |
