Two pigs

I have two girls. Im getting ready to make them a c&c cage, infact the coroplast is being picked up tomorrow.

Do I need to keep two food bowls in their cage?
How about water bottles and pigloos?

Congrats

Congrats on your new pigs. I obviously haven't been here very long, but I figured I'd tell you what's in my C&C cage. I have a pigloo and a cardboard log (you can buy them at pet stores) in case they want separate hidey holes. I have one big food dish and a very large water bottle, a folded up towel (my girl likes to sleep in it), a tennis ball to bump around, a bounce back toy, and a few chew wood things. (Right now they are separated due to being separate genders, but that's what they had before I found out). Hope this helps!

you don't need to have two food bowls or water bottles. I have 5 sows all living together who share a large bowl and bottle. It's good to have several different hidey places though because like us they may want some time alone even if they get on great.

If you have boars it's a good idea to have two of everything to avoid dominance issues. I suppose it is possible a very dominant sow may prevent other sows feeding and drinking. For now one of everything should be enough.

Re: Thanks

I guess I spoil my babies cause they each have a bowl for fresh veggies, and each have their own water bottle. They do however share a pellet bin and a hay rack.
