He went back to the vet, and got another shot but in the mean time I went and got the bedding called Yesterday's News. The vet said that it could be that he was allergic to it. I think he was, because after I changed his cage he stopped scratching. He's cut on his back is healing, I suppose the hair will never fully grow back there. He is on a healthly road to recovery. Since Ducky got better I tryed to put him back with Quackers. They used to get along soo well, and now they are fighing. The teeth chattering, biteing and scratching. It seems to be only Quackers. Could this be because he is used to being alone since he was for 1-2 weeks? Will they ever get along? Quackers is the aggrestive one, while Ducky backs up and trys to get away. Any advice? Thanks. |

I have found that if you separate guinea pigs for more than a few days, when they are re-introduced it is like starting all over again! Quackers probably was trying to re-establish his claim over the "territory" that no longer has his scent marks. I would try to introduce them in a neutral area, as well as clean, disinfect, and rearrange the cage before putting them together again. If this doesn't work, try dividing the cage and letting them get used to another before attempting another introduction. By the way, those are adorable piggy names! |

Thanks. Today I changed the cage and scrubed it all out and they seem to be a little better. Quacker's I think is always going to be a little pushy, but the scratching has stopped. Another quick question. While Ducky was sick he lost some weight and I'm trying to get it back on him. Is there anything you know that will help. When he was weight he was 750 grams, but that was before he lost more weight. He's eatchin fine but i would feel better if he gained some weight. Thanks again! |

Are they being treated for mites? Is that what the shot is for? Mites can make them more irritable. If you're trying to treat one pig for mites, you need to dose them both as the other one will just reinfect your other pig. |

They were treated for mites. Also Ducky was allergic to the bedding i was using. He is so much better now. Today they were together and they were better. |
