Re: DO I REALLY need an igloo? You don't need an igloo, but you do need something for them to go into to hide, sleep or just feel secure. I have 4 piggies. I bought an igloo for the first one, then found several sites on the web, and talked to the guinea pig rescue near me and was told a box turned upside down with a hole cut into the side so the piggie can get in and out of would do. Also when I went to see the piggies for adoption, they had taken the BIG bowls that you see at wal-mart or target for like .88 cents and had cut out a big u shape entrance to the side of it. Anyway good luck!!

Re: DO I REALLY need an igloo? A few toys are okay, but just from the experience of my 12 guinea pigs plus numerous others I've had in the past, they normally disregard the toys put into their cages. An igloo works best and doesn't cost much money.

Re: DO I REALLY need an igloo? Toys are nomally ignored by my pigs too. I don't use igloos, I use various cardboard boxes instead. the crisp ones with just the hole cut in the front are good. My pigs also have tea cozies which they sleep inside. Be careful with igloos though as they can become very hot in the summer
