If your pigs have been introduced and are getting along there is no reason to seperate. What is the sex of your guinea pigs? The only reason you should seperate is if they are fighting to the extent of causing blood shed.

If there is no blood when they squabble then let them stay together. If you keep seperating and re-introducing them you will only cause confusion.

I just wanted to know what is considered not getting along. The pet store also said when there is blood to separate them, but I didn't really trust them. Oh, they are both males and sometimes the older one starts strutting around and chasing the little one around. So I wasn't sure. First time owner here

Since you got them from a pet store you may want to double check their sex if you haven't already. www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm
