Is it ever too late to introduce a friend for my piggy? I want to get my Vodka(piggy) a roomate. But first I should really build my pig a new friend. Is it ever too late to introduce a friend? I've only had the pig for a week and I understand you have to introduce the pigs slowly (like at playtime) and quarantine the new one for 3 weeks, so is it ever too late for me to get the piggy? Because I really want to get her a friend when they have a bigger cage. Thanks

Re: Is it ever too late to introduce a friend for my piggy? No. It's never too late to get another piggie. I've had one for over a year and recently got another one. They get along great. Yes, you should keep the new animal away from your other one for awhile. Try and wash your hands up to the elbows before and after handling the new ones, and, if you think their sick, a change of clothes might be necessary.

Re: Is it ever too late to introduce a friend for my piggy? I don't think it's ever to late to introduce a friend for your pig and Mish o Toma is right they should be quarintined for 3 weeks and you should wash between handling them.

Re: Is it ever too late to introduce a friend for my piggy? I just recently introduced my young piggie to my 1 yr old piggie. They liked one another immediately, and I actually find that when my youngster is around the other one, she acts more like a guinea pig and learns from her. I find that my 1 yr old has been a big help because my young one is blind.
