I think its mites.

I was playing with blackberry today and i noticed that on her right foot some of the fur was gone. the skin was flaky and there were little tiny scrathed places. It doesnt' look like ringworm, but on the other hand, they have had it in the past and I recently gave them their fiddle stix back (after backing them). The only other possibility is the cage. the rim and outside is made of wood, but the inside is plastic, all the parts they come in contact with. anyway, i need to take a course of action soon and i wont be able to get to the vet till at least tuesday.
P.S. : Is iverctimine (im not sure how its spelled) sold in pharmacies, prescription or not?

Mites don't usually manifest themselves on the foot. I would treat for fungal now, as you only need an anti-bacterial ointment (myconizole 2% is fine) and then take the pig to the vet. Ivermectin is a bit tricky and sometimes expensive to find and you have to be careful with dosing. It doesn't sound like mites.

would it be dangerous to treat it for fungus if it isn't? well the deal is my mom is a pharmascist so i could ask her if they have Ivermectin.

Treat for fungus, it can't hurt.

Ivermec is usually sold in feed stores as a cattle dewormer. Of course, it can be given to other animals, and it's often used to deworm dogs of intestinal parasites and prevent heartworms. I would consult a vet to find out exactly how much to give. Actually, I would take a trip to the vet to find out exactly what the piggie has on its foot and go from there. GOod luck.

O you were right ofcourse
I treated her with miconazole and its gone and most of the fur has grown back. the big mystery is why they keep getting. I backed the fiddle stix like you suggested, but she did get it about a week after i put them back.
maybe it is the cage so im going to build a new one. hopefully a c & c, im not sure if i can fit that, but i'll see.
thanx for the advice.
