Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Hello everyone, great news! I took home a new piggy today! The adoption is official in a couple weeks! She's a little hairless right now due to mites, but she's a little sweetie. After her condition clears up (hopefully faster than I think it will) she gets to live in th big cage with my other piggy. Anyone have any tips and tricks to make her a little more confortable while she gets over the mites? Anyhow, I don't have a name for her yet, so feel free to suggest something. Here are the pigtures I have now. She's actually a peruvian, beleive it or not ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Bless you for taking in this bundle of joy. Her life has probably been so terrible up until now. Congrats I can't think of anything off hand to tell you to do to keep her comfy while getting treated for mites. I know it's not wise to give them any baths or anything that could make the itching more persistent. Just make sure she's happy with lots of veggies, hay and love! Hehe. It's so sad to see her fur like that, but I'm sure she's going to be JUST fine. As far as a name, how about name her after a Peruvian goddess, like Chasca. "Chasca was an Incan Solar goddess of Dawn and Twilight who was the embodiment of the qualities of the planet Venus. She was the protectress of flowers and gardeners." She is a cutie, for some reason Buttercup popped in my head when I saw the pic of her eating hay and her bangs all flowing over.Maybe I am just hungry. |

Congrats on your new piggy! I'm sure she is in good hands now. She will be beautiful once she heals. I think a good name would be Princess, or Queen, because of the way her hair flops over her ears and head almost like a crown, and she looks so royal in the one picture. Congrats again! |

The box indicates you got her from a pet store. Are there no rescues nearby? Why support inbreeding and piggy farms. It's obvious she needed to be rescued, but we have to not support them so there is no business in mass producing these innocent critters! You should be ASHAMED! |

Tonika I believe in her first for second line that she said the adoption was almost offical. By that I'm guessing she adopted I could be wrong. But she adorable and I'm sure when the mites are gone and she has her hair grown she will be even more beautiful. |

Firt of all, thank you guys so much for all the congrats and well wishes! And the name suggestions! Keep 'em comming, I'm at a bit of a loss on what to call her And Tonka, I appreciate your concern for guinea pigs, but please don't jump to conclusions. If you'd like to know something about the circumstances of the adoption, please just ask. The box is a cat carrier given to me by the Vancouver SPCA where I'll officially adopt her from in about 2 weeks time (as of right now she's technically a foster). What can I say? She wanted to come home in style! |

Again. MANY apologies. She's a cutie. You know how like when something is SO ugly it is cute? Like a pug or an English bulldog? |

So now you are calling her pig ugly? Whatever. Sensor Girl you pig is adorable (she has a sweet little face) and I am sure that she is in good hands. Her poor skin makes me sad but I am sure it will start getting better soon! |

It came acrossed that you called her guineapig ugly because after you remarked on that she was a cutie you said...you know how something can be SO ugly it is cute. Honestly the first time I read that I thought the same thing. |

I think all animals are cute. Including less than show quality animals. They have their own charm that I find endearing. What's so bad about that? The GP is obviously undergoing some rough times with the mites and what not, but maintains that piggy cuteness. Just a different kind of cute. |

What a cutie! I'm so glad she will have a good home. I feel horrible for her, when I saw the picture of the fur she's missing. Hopefully she will heal soon. My suggestion for a name is either Patches, Butterscotch, or Tribbles (if you are a Trekkie). Piggerz |
