I noticed my guinea Pigs have started having a bit of oily fur, do they need a bath? Rebecca

They really don't need baths all that often, so unless they are REALLY dirty I wouldn't bother. It can dry out their skin, too, so you should only have to do it a couple of times a year at the most, especially with the short-haired varieties. Good luck! =)

Their fur is a great indicator of their general health. Oily fur can indicate they are run down or have some kind of skin condition (for example a fungal infection). If a shampoo (and I agree it should only be done twice a year maximum - if their environment is kept clean and they have a good diet, they shouldn't need anything more than that) doesn't sort them out then a check-up at the vets would be a good idea.
