crazy4cavys--have you read this thread? This thread is about the infraction system and how it works NOT about how you feel about the mods and the job we have to do. If you have a problem with a moderator feel free to private message them, or another mod, about the issue.

Of course you can have your own opinion about the mods but this threads isn't the place to voice it. That is why any posts made that are to complain about infractions received will be deleted.

By the way, There is a handy quote button in the lower right hand of every post. I suggest you click that if you want to quite someone instead of trying to copy and paste the entire post box. What you pasted into that post is mostly nonsense and you could have at least pruned out what wasn't necessary.

It's much easier to respect people's opinions if they are written clearly and intelligently, but I suppose that's another topic ...

We welcome opinions here on this forum, whether or not they agree with ours. We only ask that those opinions be a) coherently written, b) written within the policies of this forum, and c) written in the correct part of the forum. That's really a fairly low standard for opening up the forum for a wide variety of opinions, so it shouldn't be too much to ask.

There is a specific place to discuss the moderators, if you have a problem or opinion on them. Generally speaking, though, it's bad form to criticize one of the moderators for DOING OUR JOB out in the main part of the forum. If you'll read through the rules and stickies, you'll see that we have specific procedure to follow if you have an issue with how a moderator functions. It's not complicated. All you have to do is private message either the offending moderator or another moderator with your issue to have it addressed.

Hi! I'm glad for the strict rules. Yes, it can make it a little stressful when worrying about if you're following correctly, but, at the same time, it's so much better for those trying to read the messages. I'm a fanatic when it comes to grammar and punctuation, so I can't help but to get frustrated when someone has a message filled with misspelled words.

I do want to ask something, though, if that's ok. Someone asked if "LOL" was chatspeak, and someone else said that they thought so. Is that the case? I'm terrible for using "LOL", but messages are so hard to understand tone sometimes, since you don't actually hear the other person. Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm very down-to-earth. I tend to smile and laugh quite a bit, so I use smilies and "LOL". Of course, my philosophy is that you have four choices when you react to something. You can smile, laugh, get mad, or cry. Well, I prefer to smile or laugh. I just want to find out if I need to stop that, or if it's ok. Luckily, this group has the laughing face, so I can use it....if I remember it. Thanks!

i really have to laugh at all this. sorry i never seen a forum with strict rules. im sure we are all adults here arent we? if someone cant spell or doesnt use capital letters (like me) theres no need to get snobby about it. sorry but life is short and i dont have time to write a perfect sentance! also there is alot of criticism here, i for one dont judge someone's miss spelling, who cares? i think the "mods" or creators of this website are Dictators! they like to be in charge and let you know it! i dont think i'll be part of this anymore, so bye!

Um wow? This forum has the rules we have because it makes it easier for us members who care about our pigs. If you're an adult (just assuming) then when you were young you should have learned the "golden" that is: Rules are there for a reason and that reason is it makes this forum a well organized place to learn about our pigs.

I never got snotty. I explained the rule to you about capitalization when you broke it and I infracted you. You aren't the first to get infracted for lack of capitalization nor will you be the last.

Now I get to rant a bit.

I'm getting so sick of being called names because I am a mod on this site. It's my job to make sure people follow the rules, that's why I am a mod. Jeez, we are damned if we do and damned if we don't as mods. I'm tired of the negative comments towards us because we ask you members to follow the rules and I'm tired of people who don't be able to follow simple rules. I'm not going to let people get away with breaking the rules just because they are too LAZY to hit the shift key to capitalize a few letters.

Even though chat speak is used too often in everyday life, and many of my friends use it, I still don't understand a good chunk of it. I think it is a good rule to have. It helps maintain peace I think, people won't get so befuddled if everyone knows what someone else is saying.
I agree with Ly&Pigs' rant. The mods on this site take alot of crap from other members on this site, and they don't deserve it. They all put alot of work into the site to make it fun and enjoyable for everyone. If people can't comply with the rules, then that is their problem, not theirs. If all of the other members can comply with a few simple rules, then, why are they entitled to bend and break the rules? The mods and administrators are not mean, just enforcing the rules.

Honestly? It is harder to read a post when it isn't properly capitalized, punctuated or spelled right. It is not that hard to do so.
