Hello, Try Canadian Pet Connection at Canadian Pet Connection Online - Healthier Foods For Healthier Pets. I placed an order online and found out the next day that they do not service the Maritime Provinces. They did refer me to another supplier. Kristen |

Kylie, I buy my Oxbow products from the veterinarian that I take my guinea pigs to, they will order anything I need. Also it only takes a couple of days. So maybe your vet be able to? |

Global/Ryan's Pet Food is a chain, and there are other locations that carry Oxbow besides the ones listed on the Oxbow website - for instance there is a location in Kitchener that carries it. If you go to the Global website (Global and Ryan's Pet Food - Welcome) you can look up locations and call around to see if a location near you carries it or can get it. And they are a pet food store, so they do not sell animals. Canadian Pet Connection will ship in Ontario and so will Flower Town Chinchillas (as listed above in sophistic_chick's post), but be aware that they are a chinchilla breeder. |

That is excellent, thanks for the replies everyone! I am 1 1/2 hours away from Toronto, so traveling for the right food isn't a problem. When the time comes for me to get my piggies, I am going to adopt them from the Toronto Humane society. The vet idea is excellent too, and since one of our cats have an appointment (for shots All of these replies are really helping me out a lot, that you! |

Ohh... If you don't mind traveling, (or actually we could probably make arrangements to meet closer to you, if not right to where you live) Hamilton is over run with pigs! Unlike the Toronto Humane, they will and do put animals to sleep, and they don't have a lot of room. Same thing in Oakville, although I am not as familiar with them, I heard they have over 50 small animal domestics, the situtation is getting somewhat critical. If you look at Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten., you will see only a couple listings for Hamilton, but this is not the full story. Many of the pigs in the Guinea Pigs are Us listings, are actually still in Hamilton. City of Toronto Animal Services also has a lot of pigs, they also euthanize. I am not saying to not adopt from Toronto Humane, they are a great organization, however many pigs in the general area in in much greater danger. Toronto Humane does not take in other shelters pets when their time is up, so unless these guys find homes soon, well, they are in real trouble! Pigs Available in Southern Ontario! ( Petfinder.com Oakville Humane Society - Adoptions Online Lester and Wilbur They have more pairs up I believe, Nonamian_Girl on this site volanteers there, she could let you know more about any guineas they have. Adoptions# Guelph has 3 pigs listed, and my have more that are not. They have 2 girls, one is very young, and a boy, that is also very young. (litter mate, but not with the girl!) Anyway, please consider these other pigs, they are all in a pretty critical situation. If you need help with transport for any pig listed with Guinea Pigs are Us, I know that Alice would be more then willing to help for the right adoptor! |

Thank you *so* much for those links, after reading your post, I'm now definitely considering adoption from Hamilton. Buying pet store piggies was definitely not ever an option, for the obvious reasons. I don't think that I'll be getting piggies this summer, after our rats pass away (which I am not anticipating) we are going to take on GP's. I still need to get my emergency fund all set up and such. When the time comes for me to get them though, maybe I can contact you about the adoption. |

Absolutely! Whenever you are ready! I am sure we can get you some wonderful pigs! It may be when you are ready, that other places don't have many, (although hamilton always seems to have some) and Toronto Humane may be your best bet! But, I just wanted to suggest some of the other shelters, because if there are pigs sitting in them, they are by far the most at risk! It is a wonderful thing you are doing looking to adopt! I would love to help out in anyway I can! |

Lester and Wilbur are adopted now but Oakville has a pair of boys and a pair of girls, plus some single piggers left and they are all really sweet pigs. |
