Talking Intro successfull!

Hi! Thanks to everyone who gave advice about introducing a new male. You might remember our office has a male pig ("Dude") that was found abandoned in a box in the woods. We knew he needed a buddy, but I was worried about introducing a new male. We just got our new "cavy cage" so I decided we'd give it a try.

About a month ago, our humane society rescued 113 neglected and abused guinea pigs from a local home. Many have been adopted, many are in foster care, and one - named "Ian" - came to our office yesterday and now is Dude's new buddy.

Lots and LOTS of mounting and wheet-wheet-wheet, but no blood and they seem much calmer this morning. I'm not sure Dude is 100% in favor of this new situation, but I've seen them in the same hidey box (even though there are two in there) and they both seem very active. I'm confident this was a good choice, and thanks again to everyone!
