is this cage ok

I just made this cage for Kori. It is a little small I know but I need to go to Target to get more cubes tomrrow. I needed to make a cage TONIGHT since we are going to have 2 new friends tomorrow. As soon as I get more cubes then I will make the cage bigger.

Re: is this cage ok

2x3 is well to small for 2 pigs, and just fits the standards of one pig. 2x2 is way too small for even one pig. Plus: you want to get two new piggy friends tonight?? You will need atleast 2x5 or more for that many pigs. Now for the bedding, you have fake grass, am I right? That's very decorative, but when the pig pees on it, it will not go through and he will be sleeping in pee puddles. I suggest a nice fleece bedding. Be careful with that dog too, because he could get in the cage, and everyone knows what may happen from there on. You should cover the top of the cage for safety.

But, if you are going to expand the cage, I suggest doing it tonight, before you get your new pigs

Re: is this cage ok

We are getting the piggies TOMORROW. I am getting more cubes tomorrow also. I just wanted to make the cage with what I already had for now so that I only have to take part of it apart to make it bigger.

As far as the grass I plan on putting fleece in there just have not went downstairs to get it yet and put it in. but thanks for reminding me.

That'll be find for right now. Being in a small cage for a day won't do them any harm. And the water bottle is fine how it is. You're going to put some bedding in there though right? Otherwise that outdoor carpet stuff is going to get really icky really fast.

That cage will do temporarily. Enlarge it as soon as you can though.

Re: is this cage ok

I know Tipi, but she was wondering if something was wrong with it. If you look at the picture you can see a wire holding it to the grids.

Opps EDIT: What do you mean by bedding? Like human bedding or small animal bedding like shavings or carefresh? I've used quilts in a fix, but they get really stinky really quick. Using shavings is fine, as long as it's not cedar or pine (kiln dried pine is okay).

Re: is this cage ok

Aspen bedding is just fine. I use that with a mixture of Carefresh (it keeps the stink down) in my loft.

Although you might want to cut a hole in an old box for a hidey house. I don't think that house you have in there will fit a piggie.

Seriously? There's a piggie in there? Wow is it a baby? That house looks so small in that picture.
