| Keeping guinea cool Hey its that time of the year again, and it is going to be a hot one. I am wondering if I should use the idea from that cavycam website. He had a brick with a water bottle full of frozen water. It sat in the middle of the brick, and allt he guinea pigs would lay around it when it was hot. I am wondering if I could do this. I just put a brick in ther so the water bottle doesnt leak onto the bedding, and a brick for htem to sit and stay cool on. Will this work? |

| Bricks and stone slabs are good for lying on when it's hot. In addition to putting a frozen pop bottle in the brick, you can also freeze a pop bottle and then wrap it in a towel (you have to stop them lying right next to it or they will get cold burns, in addition to possibly chewing it and flooding the cage!). Something I find very good is to wet a towel in cold water, wring it out so it's just damp and then hang it over the top/ sides of the cage. It really cools the air down. |
