Diggory doesnt seem to like timothy hay anymore, he ate it for a couple days, and now, no more. In his new cage he has to go to the second floor to get to it though, could that be the issue? |

That could be the problem. When I changed my girls cage and put their hayloft on the second level, they didn't put it together that their hay was on the second level. Try putting some timothy hay on the first level for awhile. If he eats it, then you may just have to show him how to use the ramp (putting veggies up the ramp worked for my girls). If he doesn't eat it on the first level, you could also try a different kind of grass hay like orchard, bluegrass, brome, or oat. He may just prefer the taste of other grass hays. Also, watch him to make sure he is eating his other foods as well. If he has stopped eating in general (pellets, hay, and veggies and fruit) get him to a cavy savy vet asap. He may have a serious problem that needs medical attention. |

Have you seen him use the ramp? Pigs that have never had a ramp in their cage usually are very hesitant to use one and will take a few days to a week to use it regularly. It would be best to put some hay on the bottom level for awhile. Also if there is no hiding place on the top level they may not go up there even for hay. |

Is this a new bag of hay? Could it be a bad batch? |
