How much weight piggies should have when around 6 months old? My piggies' weights are 500+g -> 600+g only. Are they too "thin"? |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 There's no real way you can give an ideal weight for a guinea pig as they come in such different sizes in terms of length and frame. I have three girls and two of them are about 3lb, but the other (different background) isn't even quite 2.5lb. If she weighed as much as the others, she'd be obese with her smaller frame, and they'd be well underweight if they dropped to her weight. Boars do tend to be a bit bigger but really the only way you can tell if a cavy is the right weight is by looking at it and feeling if it has a nice sturdy body - chunky but not carrying too much excess weight, and not really bony either. |
