Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I have two girls living in a cage that is 17X40, and i desperately need to make it bigger. I lack space, so i was thinking of adding another level to the already existing (store-bought) cage. Is there any way in which i can do this, or will it be easier to just make a whole new one for them? My sister just got her first baby pig, and when shes full grown, i'm going to put her in with my two girls, assuming i have a proper size cage by then. Any help on suggestions for another story or anything concerning this, please respond. I currently have 4 piggies, 3 cages, (all small compared to the standards posted on this site) and all my pigs are all healthy and have floor time for over an hour everyday in my 12'x12' bedroom. My only concern is making a sizeable cage for the three girls that is still appealing to the eye, and their well-being. Thanks, Blossom622 |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Extra storeys don't count in to the basic cage space (especially on shop bought cages like that which are extremely small) because space needs to be something they can run around in, gather speed, explore and exercise - not a small area they have to climb up to. I would stick with the idea of making a new cage - the 2 x 4 if that's the biggest you have room for. You can always add an extra storey to that to make a quiet corner they can go to for a snooze. But what's important is having space they can run around in. You could have ten storeys on the cage you already have, and it would still be far too small. If space is an issue, you can put the C&C cage on a table and use the underneath part for storage. Good luck making it! |
