My dad went to this pet store today for more pellets. THe guy told him that this mite spray ( I know you say NO spray but....)wors better tahn the other Bad spray we were using, he asaid after comb their hair and the mites will start to fall out, you'll actually see them,he said they use it on all of their pets and that it works, we're getting Ivermectin soon, but this might be worth it. THe other spray was working a littl ebit so.....Thoughts please, no opiionated ones about just haitng pet stores...

Re: Confused Typically, I'm pretty leary of such products. Since Ivermectin is effective, I'd spend the money on getting the Ivermectin asap rather than experimenting with a spray that may be problematic.

Re: Confused Aren't mites microscopic? So you wouldn't be able to see them fall out. Or am I wrong?

Re: Confused I would really think that any spray at all should be avoided. As easily as piggies get URIs and other infections, I would avoid anything that they could inhale. And yes, mites are microscopic. You might see lice, but I would seriously doubt that you could see mites.

Re: Confused When I said no sprays, I meant do not use any type of sprays. Mites are microscopic and you cannot see them, so the guy at the petstore is an idiot. Get the ivermectin and treat with that, otherwise you are putting your pigs lives in danger by using sprays that could do more harm than good.

Re: Confused The pet store employee is an idiot. Mites are microscopic. You will not see them falling off. Nor will brushing do anything but cause your pet intense pain. Mites burrow into the skin. They are not in the hair. Whatever he has tried to sell you is crap. Do not use it. I can pretty much guarentee it will do more harm then good.

Re: Confused Ditto what ly and vj posted. The guy at the pet store is just trying to make a sale. I would take anything they say with a grain of salt. Most of the products they sell are worthless and some are harmful.
