Success!

Well, after a couple of weeks of having a new piggie condo, I was finally able to coax Nismo into climbing the ramp. And in turn him losing his fear of the height and now is climbing it all by himself regularly! I need to find some more yummy appealing stuff to put up there though. The hay alone isn't doing it. He'll go up there for a little while but come right back down, I think its boring for him up there. Maybe I'll put his tent up there, not sure yet. I'm just so excited. I also put some reinforcements on the ramp to make it less scary for him. I put coroplast down with some grip paper on top, the kind you put on shelves. Its perfect, now he feels safe stepping on it.

And Momo is also doing well. He went this Saturday for his second shot of Ivermectin and a follow-up with the vet. His flaking has stopped on his bald spots and I can see the hair growing back on his nose. Unfortunately though he's still scratching his spots on the back of his neck and made it bleed again. Hopefully he'll stop scratching there. The vet says the bald spot on his back might scar because it looks like hair is not wanting to grow back there, I guess only time will tell. Also I noticed him sneezing a lot and saw some crusties around his nose on Saturday and the vet said he sounded a little congested, so she gave him some medication to take for 7 days two times a day. Hopefully he'll be all better for his next follow-up. He is scheduled to have a 3rd shot next week. He is also doing A LOT better about being sociable! He comes out of his hidey house regularly now while we're in the room, and regular noises like the tv, or people talking and going about their business don't scare him anymore. He's been so good about taking his medication too, he'll just take the medicine from the syringe without fighting it, I think it tastes good to him. He also comes out of his hidey house when I call him and talk to him and he'll hang out in his hay rack. I've also seen him popcorn a lot! Everytime I clean his cage and take all the poopies out, he is so happy, and just sort of runs around and does his little popcorn here and there, hehe. I can't wait until he's all better so I can introduce him to Nismo!

Re: Success!

I'm glad Nismo finally used the ramp! Pippin is deathly afraid of them for some reason and would never use one. I'd be so excited to introduce the two of them...good luck when its finally time.
