It really DOES make a difference!!!

Around here, there were no places that sold Oxbow hay and pelletts, and I certainly wasn't going to pay more for shipping then for the pelletts themselves. Recently, a concord food and pet supply opened up about a 20 minute drive away. Tonight I took a drive up there, because the girls were running kind of low on pellets and had one more hayrack full of hay left.
They didn't sell pets (yay!) there, and were incredibly helpful and polite, which I find a definite plus anymore. They carried my 2 bags of hay and two bags of pelletts out to the car for me and enrolled me in a buy 8 get one free program. I got the hay and pelletts home, and I just couldn't wait, so I filled their hayrack up with oxbow hay and their dish up with the pellets. They haven't moved from the hay/food corner. They keep popcorning around like I did something special, but in reality, I've been foaming at the mouth to get them oxbow since I found this site. They're SO happy, and that makes me happy

Aww! I wish I could get Oxbow for my pigs. It would be very expensive here in N. Ireland though. I just have to make do with Burgess. That would have been really cute to see - piggies popcorning because they got new hay and pellets!

I can't get get oxbow either I have to buy a brand called Hagen or PetValu Dicount however I normally feed them Hagen and give them Pet VAlu as a treat because they really like it .... I have no other choice but to buy my TImothy hay from PetSmart or else get ir from a petstore where they keep
GP's with Rabbits and their hay is only half full when it's a big bag....

I give my pigs Pet Value stuff too, I've fed it to them for years. And I feed them grass instead of hay cuz my boyfriend has allergies, but now it's snowed so I should invest in some :S.

Re: It really DOES make a difference!!!

It's very hard for me to find anything of quality here, too. The feed store sells tiny bags of Oxbow hay, which the pigs go through in no time. Same with the bags of pellets. So I finally broke down and ordered a 50 lb. back, which I'm still waiting on. I started buying hay from my vet, who always has a ton for herself since she has goats, horses, etc.
