buccal pad separator

Does anyone know where I could purchase a buccal pad separator like the one decribed by Peter Gurney on his website? I live in New York State. Any help would be appreciated. I have two females (about 4 months old) and five lovely babies!

The only place I know of that you can get them from is in the UK, from the Cambridge Cavy Trust. I'm not sure if what their policy is on whether they sell them only to people they know have the necessary training to use them, or if they ship them abroad, but here is the phone number for them 01480 455346 (don't know your extra bit of international dialling I'm afraid!). I understand it can be a bit tricky to get through sometimes so don't give up!

All the best,
Treen

It opens the pigs mouth so you can see all the wy to the molars. I was told it could be dangerode for the inexperianced and that you realy dont need one.

I definitely would NOT recommend getting them UNLESS you really are trained in their use. I have them and in the course of their use on one pig, got the end of the curly part of the wire caught in my guinea pig's cheek. It was a nightmare getting it loose. I was close to a panic visit to the vet with one extremely stressed guinea pig as a result. And I have a LOT of experience with a lot of guinea pigs.
