Sick guinea pig

Hi....

We have two guinea pigs in separate cages. One I just noticed when I was feeding them has watering discharge in his eyes and acting like she is not feeling well. I wondered why she did not come running for her food. That is how I notice the runny eyes.

What can be done for my daughters guinea pig. I put her water bottle up to her to see if she would drink. She drank some water and I will continue to do this throughout the day.

In the mean time.... I need to find out what is wrong and if there is anything I can do to help her feel better.

Is there something from the pet store that I can give her or does this require vet treatment.

We have had these guinea pigs since they were babies and they have never been sick. This is so sudden and do not know what to do for her.

Please if anyone can help me with answers... email me.

Thank you in advance.

Sharon

Re: Sick guinea pig

Take the guinea pig to a good guinea pig vet RIGHT AWAY. Do not delay.

once they get sick they can deteriorate extremely fast so please get the pig to an experienced gp vet as soon as possible.
