Mites When you are looking for mites part your gp's hair so that you can see the skin. Wait for a few seconds and just look directly at the skin. Usually within a couple seconds you'll notice something moving on the serface of te skin.

Re: How to avoid mites My little buddies go outside all the time and I have seen no evidence of mites. My one pigger had lice when i first brought him home but after a distressing bath.... all is well again. Go ahead let em play in the grass.

Re: How to avoid mites You CAN'T SEE mites. They are microscopic. You can only see LICE and FLEAS. MITES must be treated with a drug called ivermectin. It's best to take your guinea pig to a vet to be treated for mites as dosing with ivermectin is tricky. You can read up here: guinealynx.info/guinealyn...#mangemite Usually where there are lice, they usually have mites as well. It's best to take your pig to a vet to be treated.
