I was wondering how you thank people for posting helpful comments. I searched all over but couldn't find anything. One other thing, what does the cavy status mean (cavy slave, cavy cager..)?

You can not thank people until you are a Cavy Slave. To be a Cavy Slave you have to post 10 times and be a member for 30 days. When you are a Cavy Slave, a sign will appear on each post with the words "Thanks" in it and a small thumbs up picture. Click that and your username (in my case pigsforlife) will appear under the post.

I think most of the people here are young either in middle school or highschool and not everyone knows perfect puntuation to be honest. Actually i did get a laugh out of all those "I'm sorry i'll try to do better next time" posts, sorry but it does remind me of a 7 year old who got punished for doing something wrong. I wonder if the mods realize that most people here are just kids (meaning teens & young adults) and the mods are alot more lets say "mature"? I don't mean to laugh at that but i just wonder why put so much time into a website that seems to irritate them so much? There is a life beyond the internet you know! Let people speak and have fun and don't gun them down for making a mistake please.

I'm 18, and if I want to "mouth off", I do it in real life, i.e: over the phone, text message, face-to-face, hanging out with friends, etc. I personally do not feel like it should be tolerated on a private forum. This isn't yahoo or myspace, or AIM. Being that specific age myself, I feel like I enjoy coming to a "place" where there are stricter rules, because it helps me feel safer in a way. This is possibly one of the safest online forums because of these rules imposed by T and the mods.
If the rules were lessened, I wouldn't feel as safe. Plus, it would be hard to understand what people are trying to say, and disapointing to find that there isn't at least one place where I can get away from all the sickening aspects of other more public forums.

This really isn't the place to act immature..
I find this website fun, and I'm pretty much addicted to it. So, its up to the individual young adult and everyone else to determine what their definition of fun is, and to perform whatever actions necessary to satisfy that fun need in the appropriate place and format.

I do agree with you and i am alot older than you. I don't like chat speak either and never used it in my life. I started getting addicted to this site for the information and knowledge i've gained from it but i'm just saying sometimes this site makes people scared to post anything in fear of being squashed like a bug for any repeated mistakes they make. I've seen posts made by the mods and alot of them are very snippy at these kids who posted them i mean come on no one's perfect? I've seen alot of "if you don't like my site then leave" types of comments and i hate that, what a way to welcome people to your website! So with that said and done i only come here to gain general knowledge since i am a new guinea pig owner , i don't try to make freinds because really it's almost impossible on an unfriendly website.

hen these people need to come forward so we can address that. I haven't seen any members *squashed* for making a mistake. I've seen them set straight, and I've seen them just continue to do what ever they want even after they were warned. I think thats when the mods just come out and say that.

Are you sure you've mistaken "snippy" for to the point? Mods here have to respond to hundreds of emails and PM's. They have a life, a job, and on top of that a bunch of people to help alond with members who decide to critzize them from every direction.

They answer quick and to the point.

Really. Thats funny because I have made a few "friends" on this website. I know Ly and Voodoo are good friends but I can only speak for myself. But if you haven't made any friends, maybe thats not because we're an unfriendly site, but you haven't tried.

It seems so me that you just have alot of text on a screen without any proof.
