aggressive female

hi, i just adopted two female sister guinea pigs. The older one is aggressive towards the younger one and the older one also is very jumpy and doesnt like to be touched by any one or anything. Another thing is that she makes lots of noises and i really dont think they are happy noises. Does any of that sound like it could be just because they are still farely young or is she going to stay like this? also, is there anything i can do to keep the older one from nipping at the younger one, she is pulling her hair out and sometimes causing the youngest one to bleed. thx for any ideas!

Re: aggressive female

Where did you get them?

Have you taken them to a cavy savy vet for a check up? They are usually grumpy if they have mites. They cause sores and sometimes people mistake them for battle scars.

How big of a cage do they have? They need space.

Are you sure they are both girls?

Have you seen http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm ? It says what is normal.

There is good care info here: http://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy_orig.html
