Hi Everyone! I have seen MANY threads with regards to what is the best type of pellets to feed your piggies. The general concensus is that Oxbow is the best. I have also seen posts from people who can't seem to find Oxbow pellets anywhere. While hunting for my own place to get Oxbow food, I came across a spot on Oxbow's web page that lists all vet clinics, stores etc. in each country that sells Oxbow products. Here's the link for anyone that is interested:http://www.oxbowhay.com/link.sp?page=international

Re: Link to Good Food! It is useful but before you travel to a location to get pellets call and ask if they have them. I found a few out of date listings when I tried to get oxbow here and one that wasn't on the list.

Re: Link to Good Food! Good call! I was really surprised to see that though we lack adoptable piggies in Calgary, we can buy Oxbow products at 4 different places here! Hey, do you know how long a bag of pellets stays good for? I'm thinking I'll buy it in bulk once I get piggies but I dont want to have it for too long an have it go stale/bad.

Re: Link to Good Food! There should be a expiration date on the bottom of the bag. I think we usually say 6 months is the cut off. You really don't want a bag lasting you more than 3 months. A few people will buy in bulk and then freeze bags and take out about 2lbs at a time.

Re: Link to Good Food! I used the Oxbow web site, and every listing on that page for Washington was wrong/not available (except one). It does not seem to be very up-to-date. :0)

Re: Link to Good Food! Well that's no good! I can vouch for the Canadian ones though. All the ones in Calgary are still good.....which works for me - if I had guinea pigs!!! Send me a pig, and I'll send you some food! (Joking of course!!!)

Re: Link to Good Food! One of the big sellers with Oxbow is that they make the pellets with a long "shelf life" of up to 12 months I think. To me, this seems a little long, so I definitely go the freezing route. My little guys just love their cavy performance!

Re: Link to Good Food! After you open the package I would use it up within a few months unless you freeze it. If you freeze the excess pellets they should be fine for around 6months.
