Ok not speaks, wheeks, LOL. I FINALLY heard a tiny little wheek out of my Nismo. Since I've gotten him he's been very quiet, only noise he makes is that 'brrr' sound when you touch his back the wrong way and he gets all shaky. Last night when I got home, I started making a fuss over him, then I heard it, really low but there it was, sounded like "whook, whook, whook, whook". Haha! At first I was like, what is he doing? Then I realized, oh he's wheeking! Or whooking in his case He stopped after I gave him some goodies.
Also, have you guys ever heard of piggies trying to imitate noises? I've noticed Nismo doing this a couple times. Last week my husband was playing on the couch with him and chewing gum, he notice Nismo trying to get close to his mouth so he started making these little really fast gum chewing noises, then all of a sudden really fainly we heard Nismo making a similar noise! I don't know if he was chattering his teeth, or what. Maybe it was a sign of some sort? Last night when I was holding him on the couch and had him on my chest I was making kissy noises at him, and he was just right in front of my face sitting very still staring at my mouth , then for a few minutes I heard him making these little smaky noises. So not sure if he's actually imitating our sounds or trying to give us a sign of some kind

Every time I talk to my pigs they each move their jaw from side to side. I think they're trying to talk back to me and copy my mouth movements, but they're probably just getting ready to launch themselves at me for interrupting them. I imitate them, wheeking and rumbling every now and them. I probably terrify them though; after all their Chief Mommy has gone all wierd on them!

Nismo may be trying to imitate you, or maybe it's you imitating him without realising it!!

I'm happy for you.. as I can tell from your previous posts that you really wanted to hear him wheek. *LOL* When I make loud wheek noises, mine come up to the edges of their cages and wheek back until I stop... I know when I click my tongue loudly Tyson will make his rumbling sound and Sugar will run into her pigloo and make little "clicking" sounds herself.. I don't know how she's doing it since she's hiding.. but I can hear it and it makes me laugh

It's so cute. I love the sound of talking piggies.

Looks like Nismo is coming out of his little shell. That's too adorable.
